Three-category arithmetic board

A complete 15-clue Jeopardy-style practice board: three categories, five point values, accepted answers and worked explanations. Use it on paper or enter the clues manually in Quiz Champ.

Make three columns for the categories below and five rows worth 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 points. The player sheet contains the clues without the key.
Teams take turns selecting one unused clue. Allow about 30 seconds to discuss and submit one answer; allow extra reading time as needed.
For this friendly practice format, award the listed value for a correct answer and zero otherwise; do not subtract points. This is a host-selected variation, not official TV rules.
Accept correct values with equivalent units. You may invite question-form responses, but that is optional for this practice board. Resolve scoring consistently before play.
If teams tie after the board, share the win or prepare an additional checked clue. Quiz Champ is a separate game site; downloaded TXT is a preparation sheet, not an automatic import.

Scoring: Listed values for correct answers; zero for incorrect answers or a pass. Maximum 4,500 points across the 15 clues.

Number sense

1. [100 points] Seven plus eight equals this number.
Answer: 15
Host note: 7 + 8 = 15.

2. [200 points] Four tables each seat six people. This is the total number of seats.
Answer: 24 seats
Host note: 4 × 6 = 24 seats.

3. [300 points] A box has 36 pencils. Give away one quarter; this many remain.
Answer: 27 pencils
Host note: 36 ÷ 4 = 9 given away; 36 − 9 = 27.

4. [400 points] A 48-point score increases by 25 percent. This is the new score.
Answer: 60 points
Host note: One quarter of 48 is 12; 48 + 12 = 60.

5. [500 points] Two thirds of a class of 30 choose puzzles. Half of those students choose word puzzles. This many choose word puzzles.
Answer: 10 students
Host note: 30 × 2/3 × 1/2 = 10.

6. [100 points] This many minutes make half an hour.
Answer: 30 minutes
Host note: 60 ÷ 2 = 30.

7. [200 points] A break starts at 10:20 and lasts 25 minutes. This is its finish time.
Answer: 10:45
Host note: 10:20 plus 25 minutes is 10:45.

8. [300 points] Three 12-minute activities have two 3-minute transitions between them. This is the total duration.
Answer: 42 minutes
Host note: 3 × 12 + 2 × 3 = 42.

9. [400 points] A session starts at 13:40 and ends at 15:05 on the same day. It lasts this many minutes.
Answer: 85 minutes
Host note: 20 minutes to 14:00, then 65 more minutes.

10. [500 points] In a 50-minute session, setup takes 8 minutes and closing takes 6. Divide the rest equally among four rounds: this is each round's duration.
Answer: 9 minutes
Host note: (50 − 8 − 6) ÷ 4 = 9.

Host note: The prefix centi means one hundredth; 100 centimeters = 1 meter.

13. [300 points] A rectangle is 6 meters long and 4 meters wide. This is its perimeter.

14. [400 points] A 2.4-meter ribbon is cut into 30-centimeter pieces with no waste. This many pieces result.
Answer: 8 pieces
Host note: 2.4 meters = 240 centimeters; 240 ÷ 30 = 8.

15. [500 points] A tank contains 3 liters. Remove 750 milliliters, then add 1.25 liters. This is the final volume in liters.
